Los Bitchos Add Melbourne Show to Australian Tour this January + Supporting Leon Bridges.

Hot on the heels of their new album Talkie Talkie, the triumphant follow-up to their electrifying 2022 debut album Let the Festivities Begin!, London-based cumbia boogie band Los Bitchos return to Australia in January with headline shows in Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide. While in the country, they’ll also support Grammy-winning star Leon Bridges at Sydney’s IICC Theatre and Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl.

After selling out the Thornbury Theatre and Shotkickers last year, Los Bitchos will treat Melbourne fans to an intimate but undoubtedly wild show at The Curtin on Jan 22, with support from Delivery. Merpire will open the show in Adelaide.

Made up of lead guitarist Serra Petale, who carries both Australian and Turkish heritage, Uruguayan synth and keytar player Agustina Ruiz, Swedish bassist Josefine Jonssonand British drummer Nic Crawshaw, the group are united by a commitment to having fun. It’s a contagious energy they’ve had no problem transmitting to the world, radiating the verve of their personalities and cultures through their exploratory take on rock’n’roll.

Since the band officially arrived in 2019 with two sell-out 7″ singles, they marked themselves as one of London’s brightest bands to watch, ripping stages across the globe, such as Glastonbury and Coachella, as well as supporting Pavement and King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard.

Released by City Slang, the new album is glistening with charisma, sonic experimentation and a puckish spirit. Named after a fictional club of the same name Talkie Talkie is a late-night paradise brimming with freedom and possibility, a place where partygoers can escape reality in the dance or daydream along to the invigorating soundscapes." NPR describes it best: "Picture this: It's the 1980s, and you are in a glitzy nightclub. Neon lights run along painted black walls, a disco ball sparkles overhead, the fog machine is running, the hair is big, and the eyeshadow is garishly purple. That is where Los Bitchos want to take you with their new album, Talkie Talkie”
